Ranger fortified a bridge near the Port of Palm Beach to support
one of the largest loads ever moved over a Florida roadway, a
segmented trailer two lanes wide and more than a football field
long, with a gross weight of 1.3 million lbs. The trailer bore
an oversized turbine to an FPL power plant in western Palm Beach
County. Beyel Brothers operated the transport for the rainy
night move, conducted over temporarily closed roads with police
escort.
