Ranger North Begins $22 Million Plaza Job
(1st/2nd Quarter 2010)
Ranger’s North Division
is constructing a mainline toll plaza and two new ramp plazas
for SR-528 (BeachLine Expressway), a major east-west corridor
bordering Orlando International Airport.
The $22 million project for the Orlando-Orange County Expressway
Authority has a 540-day schedule.
The mainline plaza will be built about two miles east of the
Dallas Boulevard interchange. Work includes adding approach and
merging lanes that extend more than a half-mile in each
direction from the plaza. It also includes constructing two new
plazas on the entrance/exit ramps at Dallas.
Other new work at Ranger North includes contracts to mill and
resurface roads in Lake and Volusia counties. In a $2.6 million
project, crews are improving sections of SR-33 and SR-50
(Colonial Drive), while similar work is underway on
SR-15/US-17/92 under a $2 million contract.
